Alberta Recreation & Parks Association (ARPA) is a provincial charitable not-for-profit organization with a voluntary board of directors dedicated to the promotion of recreation and parks and their benefits to the quality of life of all Albertans.

ARPA has some absolutely great programs and initiatives that we can all be proud to support and be involved with. Here are just a few of them:

ACE COMMUNITIES - Active, Creative and Engaged Communities.This is an initiative of ARPA designed to get more people, more active, more often. We know that recreation, parks, arts, culture and heritage significantly improves the well-being of individual Albertans and the development of healthy communities.
HIGH FIVE. Canada's only Quality Assurance Program for recreation and sport programs for children aged 6-12. HIGH FIVE provides a range of training, assessment tools and resources to ensure that organizations can deliver the highest quality programs possible.
COMMUNITIES IN BLOOM.This is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on the promotion and value of green spaces in urban settings.
JUNE IS RECREATION AND PARKS MONTH! Recreation and Parks Month annually recognizes and celebrates how recreation and parks enhance the quality of life for Albertans. We encourage your community to live it up in June but embrace and celebrate the benefits of recreation and parks all year round. This year's theme is Children in Nature which promotes the numerous and varied benefits children receive from being outside in Alberta's beautiful great outdoors!
