Case Study A – System Overhaul

This particular case was referred to us by an existing construction client. After our customary analysis we discovered this business was paying a higher monthly IT bill than necessary and not receiving the services they needed. The nature of their business is time-sensitive, and for that fact they considered themselves a “high maintenance” client - when they need IT assistance they need it ASAP.
Our technicians went in and assessed the situation, reconfiguring their current IT system and resolving any outstanding issues. A BES server was installed, which corrected their challenging issues.
The changes and additions increased their efficiency three-fold and saved them 50% off their monthly IT bill.
Not only were they now saving half of their monthly fees, they were also able to learn throughout the process what had caused their past issues and how to prevent them from future occurrences.

Case Study B – System Upgrade

In this case study the client had outgrown their systems and needed to upgrade to take their business to the next level. They originally started out with 10 computers and no server, feeling that a server wasn’t of value compared to the cost… at that time.
As their business grew, they outgrew their original systems. Pro-Active IT sat down with the client to go over the pros and cons of a dedicated server – the pros won. The next step was to source and price the right server that would meet their needs and allow for growth for the next 3 to 4 years. The unit also had to be cost-effective, otherwise it would be a deal breaker for the client.
After the server was purchased and installed, Pro-Active IT trained the company’s staff on how to use Sharepoint. The server install and Sharepoint training gave this client the ability to grow and become cutting edge in their industry. The use of Sharepoint provided a value-added service to their clients resulting in procuring a $1.5 million account!
Case Study C – Retail Systems (POS)

When this particular client approached Pro-Active IT they were very frustrated and concerned. They had hired numerous IT companies to help them get their receipt printer working with their UNIX Point of Sale System, but to no avail. Going from company to company to company was costing them time, money and potential business as they could not print receipts for their retail clients.
After about seven hours of work, wading through the “patch work” done by the previous IT companies, Pro-Active IT discovered the root of the problem. It turned out to simply be the hardware system was overloaded by other technicians changing the configuration to the client’s UNIX program. An easy fix for Pro-Active IT once the problem was located.
The client was ecstatic to be able to use their equipment without having to switch to a different POS system.
Case Study D - Virtualization

This company has been our client for approximately 3 years and had 4 servers that needed to be replaced within a year. They had a good but old IT system and it was running out of room. The client was in the process of expanding operations and wanted to have the right technology to run their business efficiently, helping them grow with the least amount of downtime.
We did a complete system analysis, determining what was critical to them and proposed two options:
- Replace their current servers and install the latest MS Operating System. Essentially using the same system but with new hardware.
- Purchase new servers and implement a virtual environment.
The client chose to take advantage of the benefits of virtualization. The project was completed with minimum downtime and the transfer went seamlessly. The client is very happy, and since the upgrade has had a need for a new sequel server which Pro-Active IT installed without having to purchase additional hardware.
Currently this client is enjoying a state-of-the-art system and has confidence in their leading edge technology with Pro-Active IT at their side.
Case Study E – Simplification

This client is a non-profit organization with two locations. They were incurring a huge expense every month for their IT systems. The expense would have been acceptable if the systems worked, but they didn’t. Unfortunately for this client their continual IT problems were also affecting staff morale.
Pro-Active IT performed an initial analysis and ascertained the client’s current IT system was very convoluted and too complicated for their needs. There were also issues with the system being improperly configured.
After assessment, Pro-Active IT began simplifying their infrastructure and reconfigured their servers. There was an immediate difference in ease of use. System issues disappeared and they saved approximately 50% off their IT expenditure. They are happy to finally have a system that works, and are confident we will be there to help them grow so their organization can assist more people. This client also chose the Maintenance option of having Pro-Active IT visit monthly to re-evaluate the systems and ensure they are functioning properly.
